Personal support, built around the person

Whether you are planning ahead, arranging care for a loved one or need support after a change in health, we will listen, explain your options and help you take the next step with confidence.

When everyday life becomes harder, moving into a care home is not the only option. A Live-in Carer can provide one-to-one support while helping someone remain close to their familiar routines, home, pets, family, friends and community.

Introducing the Live-in Carer Bureau

At The Bureau, we believe a good care arrangement begins with listening. We take time to understand the person, the household and what would genuinely make life easier. Then we help introduce a Live-in Carer with the experience, availability and personal approach that feels right.

We are small enough to be personal and practical enough to make the process straightforward. You will receive clear information, honest answers and support to put a well-planned arrangement in place.

The right kind of support, in the comfort of home

Every care arrangement is individual. The Bureau can help you explore Live-in Care for a wide range of needs, from everyday practical support through to more involved care arrangements.

Personal Care at Home

Respectful support with daily routines, including washing, dressing, meals, mobility and maintaining comfort and dignity.

Dementia Care at Home

Consistent, reassuring support for people living with dementia, centred on familiar routines, meaningful activity and the person’s individual story.

Complex Care at Home

Carefully planned support for people with more involved needs, alongside appropriate registered, clinical or specialist services where required.

Live-in Care for Couples

Flexible support that can help couples remain together in their own home while preserving privacy, routines and independence.

Respite and Short-Term Care

Planned short-term Live-in Care for family breaks, recovery after illness, cover during a regular Live-in Carer’s break or a temporary change in circumstances.

Why families choose The Bureau

We take time to get the match right

A Live-in Carer is part of someone’s daily life, not simply a service arriving at the door. We look beyond tasks and availability to consider personality, interests, communication style, routines and what will help the relationship work well.

We explain things clearly

Care arrangements can feel complicated. We explain everything in clear, straightforward language and make sure you understand the process, the practicalities, our fees and the arrangements you will need to agree directly with your Live-in Carer.

We plan for real life

We help you think through the details that make an arrangement work: accommodation, food, routines, communication, daily breaks, planned rotations and cover when a regular Live-in Carer is away.

We stay personal

You will not be passed through a large call centre. We build relationships with our clients and carers and remain available when a question arises or circumstances change.

Our Story

The Live-In Carer Bureau was founded by Spencer and Sarah Taylor, the team behind an established, CQC-regulated home care company and dementia day centres. Through this work, we have seen the difference that thoughtful, dependable care can make – not only to the person receiving support, but to their whole family.

We also know that fully managed Live-in Care is not the only model families may want or need. Some people would prefer to choose and work directly with an independent Live-in Carer, while retaining more control over the arrangement and its cost.

We created The Bureau to make this option more accessible. We use our experience of care, dementia support and careful matching to introduce families to self-employed Live-in Carers who may be right for their circumstances.

The Bureau is an introductory agency. It is separate from our CQC-regulated managed-care service and does not provide, manage or supervise the care itself.

Arranging Live-in Care in four straightforward steps

1. Start with a conversation

Tell us what is happening, what support may help and what matters most to you or your loved one.

2. We get to know your needs

We discuss routines, the home, health considerations, preferences, family involvement and the kind of Live-in Carer who may be a good fit.

3. We introduce suitable Live-in Carers

We identify carers with appropriate experience, availability and the personal qualities you are looking for.

4. You agree a clear arrangement

Before care starts, the practical arrangements are discussed openly so that everyone understands the role, routine, payment, accommodation, food, breaks and communication plan.
